A Day at the Beach
Posted by admin at 9:08 pm in Travel and Holiday

My boyfriend and I went to the beach a few days ago together with some other friends.  I’ve been able to pack only one swimsuit for the trip because it was just a spur of the moment thing. The moment we arrived, we only changed into our swim wear and went to the beach to try out some water sports. It was our first time to try anything like that because we only usually go to the beach just to swim or get a tan. We tried lots of water sports like the banana boat ride, jet skiing and parasailing.  The one I liked best is parasailing. It is a ride where they attached you to a parachute while the parachute is attached to a boat.  It was so cool because you could see the beautiful beach and other boats below.   We had so much fun. It’s just sad that we only get to spend a day there. It would be so much better if we could have extended a little more.

AIDS No More
Posted by admin at 11:33 am in Fitness and Health, Personal Experiences

A few years back, I got this terrible acne. It was so gross I didn’t even want to go out of the house. Luckily, the school year has just ended and I wasn’t required to attend classes. My friends would often tease me and call me names like “pimple face” or “girl with AIDS (Acne-In-Different-Sizes).” It really sucked.

Anyway, after a few weeks of sulking at home, I finally went to see a dermatologist for the proper medication. After days of continuous acne treatment, the pimples finally disappeared. I only had acne for only few weeks but it felt like years. Thank God the nightmare’s over. I didn’t have major acne problem ever since.

Fête des Mères
Posted by admin at 11:10 am in Holidays

It’s Fete des Meres once again.  It will be celebrated here in France on the 25th of May.  For those who don’t know what Fete des Meres is, it’s just your French version of Mothers’ Day.   Like the traditional Mothers’ day, we also give gifts to our mothers to show our appreciation.  Some of us also take time to help our mothers relax and have fun. I am actually looking forward to this day.

My mom has been very good to me and she has sacrificed a lot for me.  That’s why I wanna make this special for her.  I plan to treat her to the spa or maybe buy wrinkle cream or other cosmetic stuffs for her or maybe send her a card to let her know how much I appreciate her.  I still don’t know what to do for her, good thing there’s still a week to prepare.

My Mom is Afraid of Blood
Posted by admin at 12:17 pm in Fitness and Health, Personal Experiences

My mom was considering getting a life insurance. Though she was already old, she said that it was never too late to be prepared. Actually, her age was not an issue, for anyone can get life insurance (unless you’re dead :> ) Anyway, the only problem she encountered was that she was afraid of needles and some of the procedures required in applying for life insurance is to give a sample of your blood.

So there, once again, I tried researching online and the good news is I found out that there are companies that offers no exam life insurance. This means that a person can receive real coverage without the hassle of having to provide urine or blood samples. It also said that the benefits will not be reduced or changed despite any change in the age, occupation or health. I told my mom about it and she said that she will think about it

Researching vs. Sleeping
Posted by admin at 12:00 pm in Education, Personal Experiences

I am dead tired today. I cleaned my room and got rid of the trash/things that got piled up in my closet. I was almost in the verge of sleep when my irritating cousin asked me what bpm is. She said that it was part of her homework in school. Unfortunately, I wasn’t sure what it meant and being the half-arrogant person that I was (half of me was curious), I gave up the thought of sleeping and decided to research on it.

From what I researched online, bpm may mean a lot of things. The two answers are as follows: Beats per minute and Business Process Management. Beats per minutes pertains to the unit used to measure one’s heart rate or the tempo of music while Business Process Management pertains to the method of aligning the organization with the needs of the customers. I should have researched a lot more but my mind was already in sleep mode. Thank God for the World Wide Web, researching takes only a few minutes. Now, I can go back to sleep.

My Cousin’s Birthday
Posted by admin at 10:56 am in Personal Experiences

My cousin’s birthday is coming up and I still can’t figure out what to give her as a present.  She was my first degree cousin and she lived with us for almost all her life.  Her parents lived in the province and they let her stay with us in the city to study.  At first, we were not in good terms.  We always keep fighting about petty things like who’s gonna throw the trash or who’s gonna clean the dishes.  There was even a time when I intentionally poured glue in her hair (she was so bitchy then, she deserved it)

Anyway, everybody has to grow up eventually and suddenly we were not fighting anymore. We became really close and were able to entrust each other’s secret.  And now, as I have mentioned earlier, her birthday is coming up.  Hmm.. maybe I’ll just give her a dress, or a bag, or shoes.   Or maybe I can give her something she could get used in school like a flash drive.  Oh she would love that.

Hollywood Celebrities
Posted by admin at 10:35 am in Entertainment

What’s happening to Hollywood teen celebrities right now? It’s either they’re getting pregnant (below their legal age) or that they kept going in and out of drug rehab. Celebrities that were pregnant are Jamie Lynn Spears and (rumored) Ashlee Simpson. Those that have been rehabbed are Kristen Dunst, Lindsay Lohan and Britney Spears. Some try to get back into the scene after treatment (like Lohan and Spears) but was unsuccessful because they always go back to their old partying ways.

Even Disney-supposed-to-be-role-models-for-kids stars are having their indecent pictures all around the internet. Miley Cyrus, who plays Hannah Montana in the Disney Channel Series, have been plagued with criticisms for having posed as nearly topless in the Vanity Fair magazine. Vanessa Hudges had her pictures posted in the internet wearing her underwear. I can’t believe their parents are letting them do whatever they wanted to do.

Bad Credit Credit Cards
Posted by admin at 7:23 pm in Business and Finance

Having a not so perfect credit rating is a problem faced by some people who are not aware of the bills or payments that they have to pay. Most of the time people who have bad credit ratings have a hard to time to acquire loans and credit cards but fortunately today there are loans and credit cards made especially for those who have a not so perfect credit rating. This type loans are called bad credit loans that can be obtained by people who have a bad credit rating. These types of loans are commonly short-termed and though they have interest they are able to improve your current credit rating.

On the other hand bad credit credit cards, are credit cards that are also able to improve current credit rating and can earn you reward points each time you use them, but often times it is really not so advantageous to use for they have high interest rates and though some credit card companies offer bad credit credit cards that have low interest rates, I suggest that you may want to compare credit cards online, to see the difference on their interest rates, rewards and introductory APR for you to have the best deals.

Cancer sucks
Posted by admin at 11:33 am in Fitness and Health, Personal Experiences

This is just not my day. I’ve talked to my aunt this morning and I’ve just learned that my cousin (her son) has abdominal cancer or as the doctors termed it, “Abdominal Mesothelioma”. My cousin worked in construction and was often assigned in fieldwork. Being in construction, he was exposed to a material called asbestos, which is often used in this kind of industry. As it turned out, exposure to this kind of material, especially if inhailed or ingested may cause the development of malignant cells which eventually may lead to cancer. What was scary in my cousin’s situation was he was first misdiagnosed since the symptoms of the cancer was similar to that of intestinal flu. Luckily, he went to another doctor to get a second opinion. They were still able to detect the cancer in its early stage which is a good thing because chances of recovery are larger when early detected.  I felt really bad for him. He was such a good person and doesn’t deserve a blow like this. I’ll be constantly praying for him and hope that .he will recover soon.

The Facts about Hepatitis
Posted by admin at 5:16 am in Fitness and Health

Hepatitis is a disease that means there is injury to the liver and presence of inflammatory cells in the liver tissue. There are some shocking facts about this disease and unfortunately the awareness of this disease is far too low at the moment. The disease is spread quickly because people are unaware that they are infected and this is purely down to lack of knowledge.

500 million people worldwide are currently infected with Hepatitis B or C
This is over 10 times the number infected with HIV/Aids
Between them, Hepatitis B & C kill 1.5 million people per year
One in every three people on the planet have been exposed to either or both viruses
Most of the 500 million don’t even know they are infected
With these shocking facts isn’t it about time that we all did something about it. The awareness for this disease is simply too low. It has no where near the level of awareness that HIV/Aids has and this is the reason that the disease is spreading fast. The World Hepatitis Alliance are asking for people to sign up and support their campaign and to receive more information just go to this site http://www.aminumber12.org
